This set was found in a rich 14c. burial of a noble horseman near the village of Kovaliovka in the south of Ukraine (western borderof the Golden Horde). The set consists of one square buckle, one strapend, 6 shaped mounts and 4 round pieces with loops to hang sabre or other things on. The style of the set is typical for the period Mongol-Tatar art but in some details was evidently influenced by the traditions of Chinese (Jurchen) art. The set presented here is enlarged (x1.5 bigger) as compared to the original one. For 20 mm strap.
