Our replica of the famous Order of the Garter collar with the Great George pendant. This order was founded by the king Edward III in 1348. The order's emblem is a garter with the motto "Honi soit qui mal y pense" (Middle French: "Shame on him who thinks evil of it") in gold lettering. The collar is composed of 13 heraldic knots alternating with 13 enameled medallions, each showing a rose encircled by the Garter. Traditional pendant suspending on the Order of the Garter collar is depicting St. George the Martyr on horseback slaying a dragon. Brass casting, cold enamel. Total length of the collar is about 1 meter. NOTE: collar in the photo is gold plated.
